Petitions and organizing guides

The Resistance Calendar lists events nationwide – you can add your event, search by date or location, and more.

#StopHateDumpTrump is a petition by “union presidents, leaders of worker movements, activists, actors, film directors, religious leaders, teachers, professors, civil rights leaders, lawyers, farmers, writers, workers, students, heads of companies, intellectuals, poets” that commits signers to taking action to “end hatred, fear mongering, bullying, racism in America.” You can sign the petition at StopHateDumpTrump.com and post your action ideas at StopHateDumpTrump.com/ideas.

The national progressive telecom company CREDO is petitioning mayors and city council members across the country to take a stand against Trump’s xenophobic agenda and pledge to protect immigrants. CREDO is also petitioning to withhold national security briefings from Trump.

Color of Change is calling on CEOs of major corporations to quit Trump’s “Business Council.”

Demand Progress is a national grassroots group with two million affiliated activists who fight for basic rights and freedoms needed for a modern democracy. Their petition calls on Congress to reject Trump’s Muslim ban.

Following from the mass organizing effort of the Bernie Sanders campaign, Our Revolution seeks to transform American politics to make our political and economic systems once again responsive to the needs of working families. You can sign up for alerts and take action on their website.

Indivisible is a guide on how everyday citizens can influence our Members of Congress (MoCs). Written by a group of former Congressional staffers, the guide shows “How your MoC thinks, and how to use that to save democracy.”

The Resistance Hotline offers training, tools, resources and will answer your questions on organizing and resisting Trump.

CEH is a partner member of the Democracy Initiative, a dynamic network of organizations working toward a bright future in which all Americans participate fully and freely in the democratic process.

Showing Up for Racial Justice (SURJ) Is a national network of groups and individuals organizing White people for racial justice. Through community organizing, mobilizing, and education, SURJ moves White people to act as part of a multi-racial majority for justice with passion and accountability.

The National Council of La Raza serves serves millions of Latinos in the areas of civic engagement, civil rights and immigration, education, workforce and the economy, health, and housing.

Southerners On New Ground (SONG) is a regional Queer Liberation organization made up of people of color, immigrants, undocumented people, people with disabilities, working class and rural and small town, LGBTQ people in the South.

Dream Corps, founded by Van Jones, is launching #LoveArmy with a pledge to stand with those most at risk and to nonviolent action and listening. Take the pledge here.

LAMBDA, the nation’s oldest and largest legal organization working for the civil rights of lesbians, gay men, and people with HIV/AIDS, has a great guide to legal rights and resources to LGBT issues under Trump. You can also call or email their legal help desk.

NARAL Pro-Choice America aims to protect and expand reproductive freedom.

The Progressive Change Campaign Committee believes in fighting for bold progressive change, and has led fights for saving the public option as part of health reform, supporting Elizabeth Warren to successfully set up the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, preserving and expanding our social safety net including Medicare, Medicaid, and Social Security, and other issues, as well as backing progressive candidates for office.

Sister Song – the National Women of Color Reproductive Justice Collective aims to improve institutional policies and systems that impact the reproductive lives of women from marginalized communities.

Latino Victory Project is an ambitious, non-partisan effort to build political power within the Latino community to ensure the voices of Latinos are reflected at every level of government and in the policies that drive our nation forward.

The Southern Poverty Law Center is dedicated to fighting hate and bigotry and to seeking justice for the most vulnerable members of our society. The group’s Intelligence Project is internationally known for tracking and exposing the activities of hate groups and other domestic extremists.

The Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) is a leading advocate for justice and mutual understanding. Boycotts

King Activist, journalist and Black Lives Matter leader Sean King launched the DJT Resistance, calling for a boycott of companies and brands that do business with Trump Inc.
