March For Real Climate Leadership
Date: February 7th, 2015
Place: 14th & Broadway, Oakland
Join CEH on February 7th, where thousands of people from all corners of the state will take to the Oakland streets to call on Governor Jerry Brown to protect all Californians from dangerous oil activities (e.g. fracking) that pollute our water and air, harm our health, and endanger our communities. Hey if New York can do it, so too can California.
Fracking Is A Dangerous, Dirty Practice
There’s been a steady stream of research about the health effects of oil and gas production including fracking. Chemicals polluting the air near oil and gas wells cause cancer and respiratory and reproductive problems. Some research shows that pregnant moms are particularly at risk. Many of these sites are but a stone’s throw from where children live and go to school. As citizens of this great state, it’s time to tell our leaders, namely Jerry Brown, that we will not allow the oil industry’s profit frenzy to endanger human health and wellbeing. Please put on something blue and join us.
