CEH and hundreds of our friends celebrated our 16th anniversary with a gala at the beautiful Jewish Community Center of San Francisco on September 10th, 2012.  Thanks to all of our sponsors, in-kind donors, friends, and supporters who made the event possible.

The highlight of the party was a stirring keynote address by eminent writer, activist, and environmentalist Paul Hawken.

The event was co-emceed by CEH’s own Christine Cordero and Paul Adelstein – Private Practice star, CEH Board member, and dad – who spoke of his commitment to CEH and his work as a Board member in support of our programs to protect children and families from chemical health threats.

Michael Green, founder and Executive Director, described CEH’s bold and innovative plan to end the Toxic Shell Game, in which businesses exchange one toxic health threat for another in our homes, schools, and workplaces.  CEH's next goal in this campaign is to eliminate flame retardant chemicals that are highly toxic and used in furniture and many children’s products, despite the fact that these chemicals have been proven to offer no actual fire safety benefit.

We also held a successful silent auction and short live auction, and we even watched a magician playing the shell game that illustrates some of our most important work.

Our guests enjoyed delicious organic hors d'oeuvres and desserts created by Back to Earth Catering as well as wine, beer, and sparkling beverages donated by our friends at Frey Vineyards, Lagunitas Brewing Company, Numi Tea, and Guayaki.
