We Can’t Wait Another Year for Safer Products!

For many years, CEH has pushed for change in an outdated furniture flammability regulation that has resulted in the widespread use of flame retardant chemicals in furniture and baby products, including substances linked to cancer, developmental health problems, and other serious hazards.

Now our efforts have paid off-but we still need your help to push furniture makers to do the right thing!

On January 1, 2014, a new flame retardant standard will come into effect. The new standard gives furniture makers the choice to produce products without harmful flame retardant chemicals, but companies are not required to comply until 2015.

You can send a message to the furniture industry that we can’t wait another year for safer products!
